Motivated by the love and example of Jesus, we seek to advance transformative, family-based solutions for every child in crisis in Guatemala. Through an innovative and revolutionary foster care program, hybrid family preservation/family reunification services, and community outreach and education, our team of local (i.e. Guatemalan!) professionals is leading Guatemala towards a brighter and safer tomorrow where orphanages and children’s homes are no longer needed.

We believe that the love and example of Jesus call us to care for vulnerable children and families. We also believe that God’s design for children to thrive is in a home with family. We primarily recruit foster families from local churches, knowing
We believe that development work ought to be guided by both Scripture AND modern social science. For that reason, over the years we’ve adjusted and adapted our services to reflect what we believe honors God and aligns with the contemporary research
We believe that FAMILY is God’s design for children, and cannot be replaced even by the best institutions. For that reason, our Family Preservation program as well as our Foster Care program aim to keep children IN families and OUT of orphanages
We believe that even though child-sponsorship is a very easy way to raise funds, it is not the best model for protecting the dignity/privacy of the vulnerable. Instead, we support our work primarily through monthly donors who believe in our work
We believe that sustainable transformation can only happen when it is led by local change-makers. Every single program director and staff member on the ground is from the community that they love, live in, and serve. These are the people who know

A world where FAMILY is the answer for every child in crisis.

While today our work is focused primarily in the department (state) of Huehuetenango in Guatemala, long-term we hope to continue expanding our model throughout Guatemala and use our years of experience building and running a foster care program in a region where it didn’t exist to help organizations around Latin America to make the shift away from orphanage/institutional care towards safer alternatives like foster care. Until family is the answer for every child in crisis.
