Rachel graduated from Furman University in 2015 after studying Health Sciences and Latin American Studies. She came to Huehuetenango on a service trip the following year with The Portland Fellows Program and instantly felt drawn to Story International's work. It didn't take long for her to realize she needed to find a way to go back long term. Rachel has been teaching 3rd-6th grade beginner's English at the School of Hope and is excited to continue teaching 1st and 2nd grade for another year and building relationships with more students. She has enjoyed serving in other capacities this year, such as helping with the local youth group and exercising with kids. Some of Rachel's favorite things include baking, pranks, and dancing to Beyonce.
