The School of Hope is one of our longest-standing projects in Huehuetenango. Through the school, we offer a quality bilingual education to children from the community. This quality education provides more opportunities for these kids in the future, allowing them to break generational cycles of poverty and dependence. Many of our students attend the school on scholarship, freeing up their families’ limited resources while ensuring that they reap the benefits of a bilingual Christian private school. The parents of students attending on scholarship also attend parenting classes put on by our social worker and receive psychological support from our staff.
Through our “Sponsor a Classroom” program, you can make a monthly donation to a specific class at the School of Hope. Your sponsorship will provide classroom supplies, funds for special activities, and free lunches for the kids who attend on scholarship.
As part of the program, you’ll receive a monthly school newsletter and pictures of the class’s winning Art Project of the Month, once-yearly letters from your sponsored class, and the opportunity to Skype with your class each summer.
