Abbie Case's Fundraiser
"In 2013, I embarked on a journey that would change my life forever. I came to Huehuetenango for the first time to serve as a Preschool/Kindergarten teacher for Colegio Bilingue Esperanza’s inaugural year. In that year I experienced God’s love in a more concrete way than ever before through my community, my students, and all the children that live at Fundacion Salvacion. I left thinking my time teaching in Guatemala was finished, but I was very wrong. In the middle of the 2015 school year, God called me back to fill a position that had unexpectedly opened up, and I decided to stay on for the 2016 school year.
Now, 4 years after my initial year, God is calling me back in a familiar and unexpected way. Due to the amount of new students we have enrolling from the community, there is a need for another 1st and 2nd grade teacher (my area of expertise). Adding this extra class will allow us to provide the beginning English students with a solid foundation of the language while also allowing the advanced English learners to excel and be challenged to reach their potential. While I was not planning on returning for this school year, this specific need plus the love that God has placed in my heart for these children means I am going back. I have realized that I am completely invested in the daily life and growth of these children, and there is nothing else I would rather be doing than pouring into them in a tangible way. I feel extremely equipped as a teacher and blessed that God has gifted me in this area.
This time when I return, it will be in a more permanent way. This is no longer just an experience for me—this is my life and my purpose. But there is no way I can step into this calling without help and support from others. I believe that God gives us each other—to strengthen and encourage one another in our goals and to build up one another in Christ. I am asking you to partner with me in this ministry by sponsoring my daily life expenses in Huehue. These monthly donations will help cover personal costs such as food and home supplies, travel expenses to get me to and from the States, as well as expenses for school which will allow me to offer my students the best resources available to them. Please consider joining me in this journey by making a donation as I seek to serve and love these kids as God has called me to do."
